How to repair CKP(Crankshaft Position Sensor)of Hyundai Accent.

How to repair or check crankshaft position sensor or crank timing sensor.

Study Model: Hyundai Accent

Study Year Model: 2009

Study Fuel: Gasoline

Study Displacement:1400cc

Study Subject: How to repair CKP (Crankshaft Position Sensor or Crank Timing Sensor).

2009  G 1.4 DOHC  Engine  Unleaded GEN  P0336 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance

Component Location

General Description

A Study Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKPS) is a magnetic type sensor that Study generates voltage using a sensor and a target wheel mounted on the crankshaft; Study there are 58 slots in the target wheel where one is longer than the others. When Study the slot in the wheel aligns with the sensor, the sensor voltage outputs low. When Study the metal (tooth) in the wheel aligns with the sensor, the sensor voltage outputs high. Study During one crankshaft rotation there are 58 rectangular signals and one longer signal. The PCM Study calculates engine RPM by using the sensor’ s signal and controls the injection duration and the ignition timing. Study Using the signal differences caused by the longer slot, the PCM identifies which cylinder is at top dead center.

Study DTC Description

If frequency Study counter of the lost reference gap is over 2000, PCM sets DTC P0336.
